Send Routes & Messages to Drivers

 For Fleets Using NAV PRO

NAV PRO allows dispatchers and fleet managers to send turn-by-turn routes directly to drivers using the Trucker Path Driver App. This ensures drivers receive the correct destination and routing every time.

How do I send a route to a driver?

  1. Open NAV PRO

  2. Click the Map tab

  3. Search for a location or select a POI

  4. Click Create Route

  5. Review the route

  6. Click Send to Driver

  7. Select a single driver

  8. Tap Send

Note: Routes can only be sent to one driver at a time.

What does the driver see when I send a route?

Drivers receive:

  • A push notification

  • The route inside the Trips tab

  • Any attached documents (PDFs, images, instructions, etc.)

  • A button to start Navigate

Can I send a route to multiple drivers at once?

No.
Routes must be sent to one driver at a time.

If multiple drivers need the same route, repeat the process for each driver.

Can I include instructions or documents?

You cannot add or edit notes directly in a route.
However, you can attach documents such as:

  • Delivery instructions

  • Dock or gate diagrams

  • Customer site maps

  • Photos or PDFs with special info

Drivers will see all attached documents inside the Trips tab.

How do I know the route was sent?

NAV PRO shows:

  • Which driver the route was sent to

  • The date and time it was sent

If the driver is offline, the route will appear once they reconnect.

How do I send messages to a driver? (In-App Messaging)

NAV PRO includes a built-in messaging feature that allows dispatchers to send text-based messages directly to drivers.

To send a message:

  1. Open NAV PRO

  2. Look at the top-right corner of the screen

  3. Click the Message icon (next to More)

  4. Select the driver you want to message

  5. Type your message

  6. Click Send

What drivers see:

Drivers receive:

  • A message notification

  • The message inside the Messages section of the Driver App

Drivers can also reply directly through the app, creating two-way communication between the fleet and the driver.

What if the driver cannot find the route?

Have the driver:

  1. Open the Trucker Path Driver App

  2. Tap the Trips tab

  3. Pull down to refresh

  4. Confirm they are logged in with the fleet-assigned email

  5. Ensure the app is updated

  6. Check their network connection

If it still doesn't appear, resend the route from NAV PRO.

Can I edit a route after sending it?

Edits cannot be made to a route once it is sent.

To update it:

  1. Create a new route

  2. Attach any documents needed

  3. Send the updated route to the driver

You may label the attached document “Updated Route” for clarity.

Can I resend a route?

Yes.
Open the route in NAV PRO → Click on the Map tab → Select the trip from the left-hand side of the screen → duplicate the route → tap Send to Driver → choose the driver again from the list.

What types of routes can be sent?

NAV PRO supports:

  • Single-stop routes

  • Multi-stop routes

  • Routes created from Custom POIs

  • Delivery/pickup stop sequences

  • Routes with avoided areas

All routes use the driver’s truck settings and routing profile.

Does NAV PRO use truck-safe routing?

Yes.
Every route automatically uses:

  • The driver’s routing profile

  • Truck dimensions

  • Avoid Areas (if created by your fleet)

  • Custom POIs

  • Truck-friendly navigation rules

Why send routes through NAV PRO?

Sending routes helps:

  • Drivers follow the exact planned route

  • Prevent wrong entrances or missed docks

  • Reduce confusion and back-and-forth calls

  • Ensure consistency across all drivers

  • Support new or unfamiliar drivers
