Integrate Samsara with Command

Introduction

We are going to integrate Samsara with your Command account so that you can send data between the platforms. 

 

Step 1: Get your Samsara API Key

  1. Log into your Samsara Portal
  2. Navigate to Settings from the left side panel

  3. In the left panel scroll to Developer and select API Keys

  4. Click Add API Key

  5. In the new window type the name: Trucker Path and select Global Read

  6. Save
  7. You'll see your API key at the top on the next page. Copy it and follow the instructions below to add it to Command.

 

Step 2: Command Configuration

  1. Log into your Command portal

  2. Navigate to ELD

  3. Find Samsara and click Add Account
  4. Paste your API Key from Samsara into the field and click save
  5. Give it approx. 20 minutes and Command and Samsara will be connected!
  6. Once connected you can sync your driver ELD profiles to the associated Trucker Path Driver profile to show their location, HOS data, and Odometer information.
    1. To match driver profiles
      1. Click the Drivers tab then To Connect
      2. Located the ELD you want to connect and then click Connect Driver In Command on the right hand side of the screen.
      3. A pop up will allow you to select the Trucker Path Driver profile you would like to connect the ELD profile with, select that profile and click save.
    2. To connect a Truck
      1. Click on Assets then To Connect
      2. Import the asset into Command
      3. Click More then Trucks
      4. Edit the truck and then click Assign To
      5. Select the profile you want to associate the truck with and then click Save.

Now all routes assigned to that truck or driver through your ELD will be visible to the driver profile in the Trucker Path app under the Trips tab.
