This article explains how fleets deploy the Trucker Path Driver App, including standard vs. Fleet App options, Google Play approval steps, offline map requirements, and driver account setup in NAV PRO.
Overview
Fleets can deploy Trucker Path in two ways:
- Standard Trucker Path App – Public app with full live data features
- Trucker Path Fleet App – Private app optimized for reduced data usage
Your choice depends on data usage policies and device management requirements.
Deployment Options
Standard Trucker Path App (Public)
- Available directly in the Google Play Store
- Can be installed manually or pushed via MDM
- Uses live data for:
- Traffic
- Weather
- Satellite view
- Junction view
- Construction and road conditions
Best for fleets without data restrictions.
Trucker Path Fleet App (Private)
- Designed for fleets with strict data limits
- Not searchable in the public Play Store
- Requires Google Play approval before download
How to Access the Fleet App
Step 1: Find Your Google Organization ID
Your Google Organization ID (Org ID) is required to enable access.
How to locate it:
- Log in to Google Admin Console
- Go to Account → Account settings → Profile
- Copy the Organization ID
What it looks like:
- Numeric example: 123456789012
- Alphanumeric example: LC01a2b3c4 or CO24x9yz8
Both formats are valid. Share the ID exactly as shown.
Step 2: Approval and Review
- Provide your Org ID to Trucker Path
- Your organization is whitelisted
- Google completes a required review
Once approved, the Fleet App becomes visible in your managed Google Play Store.
Step 3: Deploy the App
- Push the Fleet App to devices via MDM, or
- Allow install from managed Google Play
Data-Saving Settings (Fleet App)
Fleets can reduce data usage by disabling:
- Live traffic
- Satellite view
- Junction view
- Map fuel prices (shown only in POI details)
- Requiring offline maps only
Offline Map Requirements
If Only Use With Offline Maps is enabled:
- Full U.S. map: ~8–9 GB
- Must be downloaded before navigation works
- Recommended over Wi-Fi
Fleets can also download:
- Individual states
- Regional map packages
Navigation only works where maps are downloaded.
Driver Accounts in NAV PRO
- Usernames must be email-based
- Can be personal or company emails
Large Fleet Best Practice
For slip-seat operations, many fleets use truck-based accounts:
- Example: Truck123@company.com
- Device stays logged in with the truck
- Any driver can use navigation immediately
Password Options
- Unique passwords per account
- Single shared password (for example: abc123) for simplicity
Summary
- Standard app = public, full features, higher data usage
- Fleet App = private, MDM-based, lower data usage
- Fleet App requires Google Org ID approval
- Org IDs can be numeric or alphanumeric
- Offline maps are required in offline-only mode
- Truck-based accounts simplify slip-seat fleets
